Disaster Relief Organizations

We've tried to pull together some of the major organizations providing relief by supporting, directly assisting, or donating to the disaster victims. We started this page with the tsunami, but with the recent flooding caused by the Hurricane Katrina, it is more cirtical than ever. Please donate to one or more of these charities.

Feed the Children

Feed The Children is sending more than 440,000 pounds of food, water and disaster relief supplies to help victims of the December 26 earthquake in the Indian Ocean and the devastating tsunami that followed. Feed The Children is also working on gathering 2,600,000 pounds of additional relief supplies for delivery to children and families as soon as possible.
But the job is far from over . . . it will take months. Right now we must make sure children and families are reached with the help they truly need.

Tsunami Crisis Relief
UNICEF country offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Maldives, India and Sri Lanka are supporting relief and recovery efforts following the Sumatra earthquake that touched off a series of tsunamis, killing more than 150,000 people and leaving 1.5 million children in serious jeopardy.
In the aftermath of the disaster, UNICEF is urging all parties involved in the humanitarian response to focus on four specific measures:

Keeping children alive.
Caring for separated and orphaned children.
Protecting vulnerable children from trafficking and exploitation.
Getting children back in school as quickly as possible.
